Custom pooja room and mandir design in Jaipur — traditional carved wooden mandirs, premium marble temples, modern wall-mounted pooja units and complete pooja room interiors. Vastu-compliant designs, precision craftsmanship, delivered in 7–10 days.

Pooja room design in Jaipur starts from ₹15,000 for a basic wooden mandir unit. A mid-level mandir with carvings, back panel and storage costs ₹40,000–₹80,000. A premium marble temple or complete pooja room interior with ceiling, lighting and custom woodwork costs ₹1–3 Lakh. Prices depend on size, material (wood grade, marble quality), carving complexity and whether you need a standalone unit or full-room design.

A pooja room is the spiritual heart of an Indian home — it deserves the same care and craftsmanship as any other room. At Jaipur Home Interiors, we have a dedicated team of craftsmen who specialise in religious space design, with expertise in traditional Rajasthani wood carving, Makrana marble inlay work and vastu-compliant spatial planning.
We design and fabricate every element in our own Jaipur workshop — no outsourcing to unknown vendors. From the carved toran arch above the mandir to the LED halo lighting behind the idol shelf, every detail is executed with precision. 500+ mandirs and pooja rooms completed across Jaipur since 2010.

Many homeowners buy readymade mandirs from furniture stores or online. Here's what you actually get vs a custom-designed mandir from JHI.
| Feature | ✦ Jaipur Home Interiors (Custom) | Readymade Online / Furniture Store |
|---|---|---|
| Size Fit | Built exactly to your space dimensions — no awkward gaps | Readymade mandirs rarely match your exact wall size |
| Wood Quality | Solid teak or sheesham — won't swell or degrade in Jaipur's climate | Usually MDF or veneer — swells and warps in heat and humidity |
| Carving Quality | Traditional Rajasthani craftsmen — authentic hand carving | Machine-pressed patterns that look flat and uniform |
| Deity Arrangement | Planned around your specific deities and vastu requirements | Fixed niche sizes that may not fit your specific idols |
| Vastu Compliance | Direction, placement and material selected per vastu shastra | No vastu guidance — you figure it out after purchase |
| Lighting | Integrated LED halo lighting designed into the structure | Separate bulb fitting you add yourself — often looks makeshift |
| Warranty | 10-year written structural warranty | No warranty or 1-year manufacturer warranty |
| Price | 40–60% more upfront for the same size | Cheaper initially — but often needs replacement in 3–5 years |
A custom pooja room design costs 40–60% more than a readymade mandir of similar size, but delivers an exact size fit, your family's preferred deity arrangement, vastu-correct placement and material quality that lasts 20+ years. Readymade mandirs often use MDF or veneer that swells and warps in Jaipur's heat within 2–3 years.

Ornate, hand-carved mandirs in teak or sheesham wood — featuring classic Rajasthani motifs: lotus carvings, arch pillars, deity niches, shikhar dome roof and intricate lattice jaali panels. Built to last 30+ years with authentic craftsmanship.

Real feedback from families who trusted Jaipur Home Interiors to design their pooja room.
“We were looking for a mandir with traditional Rajasthani craftsmanship. JHI's craftsmen created something truly beautiful — the lotus carvings, the shikhar dome and the warm LED lighting. The sheesham wood quality is exceptional. The vastu guidance was an added blessing. Highly recommend for anyone wanting authentic work.”
“We live in a 2BHK flat with no dedicated pooja room. JHI designed a beautiful wall-mounted unit in our living room that looks modern yet sacred. The LED halo lighting is stunning in the evenings. The process was very smooth — 3D design shown first, then built exactly as shown. Very professional.”
“Our home now has a proper sacred space thanks to JHI. The Makrana marble temple with stone inlay work is beyond what we imagined. The domed ceiling and temple lighting transform the entire room. The craftsmen took their time to get every carving right. Worth every rupee invested.”

Pooja room design in Jaipur starts from ₹15,000 for a basic MDF mandir unit. A mid-level traditional carved wooden mandir in sheesham or teak costs ₹40,000–₹80,000. A premium marble temple or complete pooja room interior (mandir + flooring + ceiling + walls) costs ₹1–3 Lakh. Prices depend on material (wood grade, marble quality), size and carving complexity.
For longevity in Jaipur's climate, solid sheesham (Indian rosewood) is the best value choice — naturally insect-resistant, very dense and takes carving beautifully. Teak is the premium choice, naturally oily and extremely long-lasting (30+ years). MDF with veneer or acrylic lacquer is suitable for modern compact mandirs where an ornate carved look is not required. We recommend against MDF for traditional carved mandirs — the edges chip over time.
According to vastu shastra, the ideal directions for a pooja room are north-east (Ishanya corner), east or north. The deity should face west (worshipper faces east) or south (worshipper faces north). Avoid placing the pooja room in the bedroom, bathroom wall, kitchen corner or south/south-west direction. When a vastu-correct room is not possible due to flat layout, we advise on the best available position and compensatory remedies.
Both are auspicious and long-lasting with proper craftsmanship. A marble temple feels cooler, has a divine white aesthetic, is easy to clean and is ideal for large dedicated pooja rooms. A wooden mandir (sheesham or teak) offers warmth, intricate carvings, traditional Rajasthani aesthetics and is better suited for embedded wall-unit designs. Many homes combine both — a marble deity platform with a carved wooden superstructure above.
Yes — this is our most common request from urban Jaipur apartments. We design compact wall-mounted pooja units that fit on a single wall section (as small as 2 ft wide x 3 ft tall) with an integrated LED halo glow, decorative jaali panel, small idol shelf and a concealed storage drawer for pooja essentials. These units blend seamlessly into modern home interiors while creating a proper dedicated sacred space.
A wall-mounted modern pooja unit takes 3–5 days fabrication + 1 day installation. A traditional carved wooden mandir in sheesham or teak takes 8–12 days fabrication + 1–2 days installation. A marble temple or complete pooja room interior takes 12–20 days depending on complexity. We can also plan installation on a muhurat date of your choice if required — please mention this at the time of booking.
LED lighting is considered acceptable and is in fact beneficial in vastu — a well-lit mandir promotes positive energy and spiritual focus. Warm white LEDs (2700K) behind the deity shelf create the traditional 'halo' effect associated with sacred spaces. We avoid cool blue-white LEDs (above 5000K) in pooja rooms. Natural warm light (diya and agarbatti) is always the primary light source — LED is supplementary ambient lighting.
Yes — we provide a 10-year written structural warranty on all woodwork and a 2-year warranty on LED lighting and electrical components. Warranty covers structural integrity, joinery, finish adhesion and hardware. It does not cover damage from excessive moisture, physical impact or improper cleaning with harsh chemicals. Warranty certificate is handed over at project completion.
As per vastu shastra, a mandir in a 2BHK flat should ideally be placed in the north-east corner (ishaan kona) of the home. For a dedicated pooja room, the minimum recommended size is 5 feet x 4 feet (20 sqft) to allow comfortable seating during puja. For a wall-mounted mandir unit in a living room or bedroom, a 3–4 feet wide x 5–6 feet tall unit is considered ideal — large enough for the deity, lamps, puja thali and storage for puja materials. The mandir should be placed at a height where the deity is at eye level when seated — typically 3–4 feet from the floor. We ensure all mandirs we design are vastu-compliant in placement and dimensions.

Looking for the best pooja room design in Jaipur? Jaipur Home Interiors has designed and installed 500+ mandirs and pooja rooms across Jaipur since 2010 — from ornate hand-carved teak temples in Bani Park bungalows to compact wall-mounted pooja units in Vaishali Nagar apartments.
Sheesham is Jaipur's traditional choice for mandirs — dense, naturally insect-resistant and takes beautiful carvings. Teak is the premium long-life option (30+ years). MDF with lacquer finish is suitable for modern compact units but is not recommended for ornate traditional mandirs. In Jaipur's climate, solid wood mandirs outperform veneer-covered engineered wood significantly.
North-east is the ideal direction for the pooja room. The deity should face west (worshipper faces east). Avoid the bedroom, bathroom wall or south/south-west location. Proper vastu guidance is included in every pooja room project we undertake.
